Our Approach to Volunteering

Our volunteer programme is unique and requires a long-term commitment. To ensure alignment with our values and approach, we only send volunteers in the field who have been part of our association for at least one year. This allows volunteers to fully understand our philosophy and objectives before working on-site.

As volunteers, we:

  • Observe, listen, and engage with the local community to develop meaningful projects.

  • Work full days in the village, focusing on making a difference rather than seeking personal gain or recognition.

  • Do not impose ideas but rather learn, support and collaborate with the community.

  • Maintain a simple and respectful presence, embracing the culture and daily life of Nosy Komba.

  • Do not participate in tourism or partying during volunteer assignments. (except on the day off)

Commitment & Contributions

All volunteers cover their own travel, food, and accommodation expenses. Every donation and fund raised by the association goes directly into our projects.
